The Power of Attitude
Many say that leadership is better than management. But in reality, management is an important component of leadership. It is just a part of a greater whole. There is a leader in all of us. We just have to reach deep within and bring it out. The leader in us can shape other people's lives. It can mold the future. And if you use it properly, it can give you the power to change the world.
Leadership is one of the most studied and least understood topics in the world. There are millions of books, courses, and websites to help create and promote our obsession with the subject of leadership.
I have heard it defined in many ways. But if you study each description closely, the same key words appear. Leadership involves a goal, a process, people and an action or accomplishment. If you put these together, leadership simply means, it is a process by which people are put together to accomplish a common goal. And the person who is capable of doing this is called a leader.
When you become a great leader, you will find it not difficult to be kind. It will seem a simple thing not to envy, not to boast, not to behave unseemly, not to be always seeking your own interest. Whereas before you were easily provoked, now you smile at provocation, and are unruffled by failure. You become able to "bear all things," to "believe all things," to hope for all good in the midst of failure, and to " endure all things " to the end, be happy because the power of leadership is within you!
The longer I live, the more I realize the power of attitude. Attitude, to me, is more important than money. It is more important than the future, the past, education, circumstances, failure, success, it is even more important than what other people think or say. Attitude is more important than skill, position, or appearance. It is attitude that will make or break you.
If you stand upon a mountain, you can see the sun shining long after it is dark in the valley. Try to live up high! Make an upward path toward your leadership dreams. The tree is always developing its branches toward the top while the lower ones are dropping away. Live your life that way! Upward, upward, upward!
