Truth  Is  a  Critical  Part  of  Successful  Leadership

It's difficult to find lasting success on the journey of leadership without telling the truth. We have to tell the truth to understand what's going on with our employees. We have to tell the truth to get things moving (to motivate, inspire, and drive change).

We have to tell the truth about ourselves, about the people we lead, about the organization, and about our goals and objectives. We need to tell the truth about our vision, mission statement, and what mountain we want to climb.

Until we tell the truth, we remain stuck in the old culture, patterns, programs, and beliefs that keep us from moving forward. It is truth that sets us free. The moment we begin truth-telling, the magic of change begins. Truth is the door to motivating, inspiring, and driving change.

What is truth? This has been a question of the world for centuries, and it has been constantly echoed from one end of the world to the other but not yet has it received a reply that is satisfactory. Both religion and philosophy have attempted an answer, but the variety of their answers only causes more confusion; but through all these answers runs a note of harmony which constantly reminds us that truth is the perception and representation of things as they are.

Truth plays a huge part in all situations of leadership. Truth builds the foundation upon which we make employee connections, organizational decisions, and drive change! As a leader, being willing to defy truth impacts workers, operation, and indeed the entire body of the organization. Self- evaluation is the first step toward verity in leadership and finding realistic alignment with our goals and objectives.

Truth in management may sound simple but living it constantly is a challenge. The degree of truth in an organization is less about individual character and more about organizational culture. Truth in management creates a culture of integrity, transparency, honesty and accountability that fosters trust among employees, leadership, and the entire organization.

5 Reasons Why Truth is Important

1. Truth promotes change (truth is motivating, inspiring, and helps drive change).

2. Truth is freeing (truth gives you peace of mind and helps you accept reality).

3. Truth is important (when you tell the truth, nobody can use it against you).

4. Truth builds strong employee relationships (truth creates a culture of respect).

5. Truth forces you to accept reality (truth helps you understand goals, objectives, and failures).

Truth is the foundation of successful leadership. A truth-telling leader stands over all other leaders. Truth is a standard to which all leaders are to be judged. A true-telling leader is something that all of us glorify and respect. Truth is a purpose in which all are willing to follow.

Truth-telling leaders know what they stand for and they are able to communicate it. They paint a word picture of their vision and hang it on the walls of your heart. They never put fences around people. They never put walls around dreams, and they instill truth-telling in the culture.  They understand that truth is a door. May truth always be honored and worshiped in every organization as it dances in the heart of every great leader!
